What can you expect this year?

Sunny Skies:  This event is held at the Sheraton Hotel and Marina from April 22nd to 27th in San Diego, California.

Great Content: There will be over 200 hours of in-depth educational workshops, tutorials, seminars, and sessions at this year’s event.  Industry leading speakers share their knowledge and hands on experience about various topics including Data Governance and Stewardship, Metadata Management, and Analytics.   And as an added bonus, you don’t want to miss Hannah Sanford, a graphic recorder, who will be capturing real-time knowledge transfer between data professionals during live presentations and will create visual murals.

Fabulous Speakers:  DATUM’s own Jonathan Adams will be presenting on Wednesday, April 25th at 7:30 am. His session will look at the key requirements of GDPR, critical first steps and “best practices” approaches towards company-wide compliance.  Take a look at what his session will cover below:

7 Key GDPR Requirements and the Role of Data Governance
The clock is ticking, we are less than a month away from the May 25th deadline.  Privacy and protection of personal information continues to be a hot topic in data governance.  Any enterprise doing business in Europe or retaining European citizen data must comply with the GDPR directive. Furthermore, companies can be fined up to €20 million or 4% of their annual revenue (whichever is greater) if they do not comply. If you are just starting, what do you need to do now?  For those that are well on their way, how do you ensure that you make it as painless as possible?  What happens next as your organization addressed challenges around ensuring effective implementation and subsequent operational oversight of policies required for GDPR compliance?   How is your organization making sure it will avoid penalties, fines, and punishments?  This session will look at the key requirements of GDPR, critical first steps and “best practices” approaches towards company-wide compliance.

If you haven’t registered yet, there is still time - click here to register.  This is a great opportunity to learn outside your office walls, network with other professionals in your field and bring new and fresh ideas back to the office.   Mark your calendar for Jonathan’s session and hope to see you in San Diego!
